It's a shame - once upon a time, the AT&T brand guaranteed an excellent product, but next time I'll look for another brand. I bought third-party batteries once to save $$, but they didn't resolve the problem so I sprung for the AT&T batteries. For a while, I was very satisfied, but then just a little more than a year after I made the purchase, the handsets started to lose contact with the base, often in mid-call. This system was way too expensive to have to replace so soon. Two years ago, I bought this phone system with 4 additional handsets. I have some minor complaints on features, but overall the system suits the needs of my home-based business. Same problem.
What ever happened to the OLD AT&T whose products would kick-butt the competition. And even on the speaker phone, the sound to the "callee" is poor and intermittently worse than poor. Added on to it too. The desk unit has long ago begun to put out miserable sound unless using the speaker. This is it incarnate. Not a worthwhile buy.NOW we have to try another entire set. The truth is it just hasn't held up very well. We've never used the answering machine part (so this is not commenting on that).
Now, even on the cordless handsets folks don't hear us well (could be batteries BUT this is on the newer and older units). I was going to buy the replacement desk unit, but overall, it's not worth the chance. We have this system.we've had it for about 3 years. My husband uses the 2 line in his office. Do you recall the term 'planned obsolescence'.
Pros.Average good.Cons.No speed dial. The instraction doesn't show correctly.Line 1 can't be the default pickup when making calls with other phones.
I've owned these phones for 3 years and haven't had any problems with them. This easy to use phone has great features, but it comes at a high price. I'm looking for more wireless handsets now, before it's too late.
all the features work great. the message part works fine too but the voice quality is less that I would like
